Who can apply

You can apply if your organisation is one of the following:

• voluntary association with a constitution
• charity
• sports club
• co-operative
• social enterprise
• housing association
• community interest company

Your organisation must have a governing document

To apply, your organisation needs a governing document (sometimes called a constitution or rules). This should explain:

• what your organisation is called
• what it’s set up to do
• how it works. For example, how people join, how decisions are made, and how often you hold meetings

Your board or committee must have at least 3 unrelated members

You must have at least 3 directors who are not related. We consider people to be related if they are:

• married or in a civil partnership
• in a long-term relationship or live together
• part of the same family
